Sachin Mittal is a member of RITS Software Development team. He wanted to be a policeman and at the same time he also values honesty in life, a bit of confusion.. ? To know more about him please read the interview as conducted by Maneesh Shukla.

There was a group of women who were studying Bible. As they were studying chapter three, they came across verse three which says: He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver

This verse puzzled the women and they wondered what this statement meant', is it about the character and nature of God.
One of the women offered to find out about the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible study.

That week this woman called up a silver smith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest in silver beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver.

As she watched the silver smith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up.

He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot - then she thought again about the verse, that he sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.

She asked the silver smith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left even a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silver smith, how do you know when the silver is fully refined?

He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy--when I see my image in it."

The woman understands that God has been juxtaposed with Silver Smith. The process of refining silver is a perfect example of God. God will make us to suffer a lot in our life, much like a piece of silver has to undergo in fire. Not only God places us in fire, he forces us to the very hottest part of the fire or flame.

God makes us to experience this process for making us a better person .Like a piece of silver, going through the fire will burn away all the impurities in our life. But God doesn't just throw us in the fire and leave us there to burn. Like a silversmith God holds us and watches us the entire time in order to pull us back from the fire at the right time so that we don't burn.

Then once we are refined, once we are gone through the fire and had all our impurities burned away, that is when God will see his image in us.

Moral of story is: “God is always with and within us

Republic Day Celebrations

On 26th of January every year India celebrates its Republic Day. It is one of the national holidays of India and regarded as the most important day in the Indian history as it was on this day in 1950 the constitution of India came into force and India became a truly sovereign state. It is celebrated with much enthusiasm throughout the country to commemorate the event. Republic day parade makes Republic Day the most popular of all the national holidays of India . Republic Day parade showcases the country's 'unity in diversity' as well as the armed forces of country.

Republic Day was celebrated at RITS a day before i.e. 25 th of January. RITS was decorated with tri color flags and wall hangings all over. The decoration created the mood and filled everyone's heart with patriotic fervor and immense love for motherland.

We at RITS are indebted to our gallant forefathers, who defied the ruthless might of the British oppressors and sacrificed everything during the freedom struggle. We salute all of them – the sung and the unsung heroes – with utmost reverence and gratitude. Those great souls not just thought of the un-thinkable and achieved the un-achievable. They contributed a lot more in the aftermath of that epic victory! Not just achieving sovereignty to the nation, those visionaries ensured that we had a unique ‘constitution', which promised all rights that are fundamental to its citizens

Health & Lifestyle

  • Good Morning
  • Feng Shui

The way you spend your morning can add a certain flavor to the rest of your day. Here are some healthy lifestyle habits to incorporate into your morning routine with which you will be able to handle the stress you experience in much better way. Try one or several, and experiment ………….

Morning Walk
Walking has so many  health benefits , the stress management benefits are practically just gravy! A morning walk can get you ready for your day, help you  sleep better at night ,  lower your stress level , and reduce your risk of  numerous health conditions . And if you bring a dog with you, you'll be lavished with attention as well!

Eat Breakfast
For those of you who start the day on a coffee. Breakfast  is known as ‘the most important meal of the day' .Healthy meal in the morning can balance your blood sugar levels and give you the sustenance you need to handle physical and mental stress. Without it, you will be less resilient, both physically and mentally. Be sure to have plenty of protein and fruit, not just caffeine and empty calories!

Drink Green Tea
Sipping a warm cup of tea is a soothing activity that will help you prepare for the day ahead and feel nurtured.  Green tea  is loaded with antioxidants, so it's a delicious  and healthy lifestyle choice.

A Warm Bath
The hot water will loosen up your muscles, so it's easier to get a good stretch. The act of stretching will help to release stored tension and enable you to start the day feeling more relaxed, at peace, and ready to handle what comes your way.

Put On Some Music
Music therapy  has been shown to reduce stress and have a positive effect on health. Listening to music  as you get ready and start your day will create positive energy and a soothing sense of peace (or a sense of fun, if you play party music). Music can compliment other healthy lifestyle habits, adding a sense of peace to a yoga workout, putting a spring in your step on a morning walk, or stimulating your mind as you write in your journal.

A small money plant kept at one of the cubicle of recruiter in our office captured my attention. Cubicle looks extremely beautiful, full of positive energy and freshness. It reminded me of an old practice used in China called Feng Shui (It is an ancient art and science developed over 3,000 years ago). Feng Shui is more or less related to Vastu Shastra used in India.

Feng means wind and shui, means water. In Chinese culture wind and water are associated with good health, thus good feng shui means good fortune, while bad feng shui means bad luck, or misfortune. Feng Shui is based on the Taoist vision and understanding of nature, particularly on the idea that the land is alive and filled with Chi, or energy. The ancient Chinese believed that the land's energy could either make or break the kingdom, so to speak. The theories of yin and yang, as well as the five Feng Shui elements, are some of the basic aspects of a Feng Shui analysis that come from Taoism.

We all can use the same concepts in our daily office life and keep good energy throughout the day. Feng Shui explains many ways to improve the energy of your workspace and keep yourselves near nature.

Internet is overflowing with lots of Feng Shui information and tips but I have selected few tips which can be easily applied and practiced. Here they go…

1. See what feng shui office energizers you are allowed to bring into your space and go for their best placement. Some of the feng shui must-have for the office are air-purifying plants and high energy items, such as photos that carry the energy of happy moments or bright, inspiring art with vibrant colors.

2. Be absolutely sure you have a clear organized system and there is no place for clutter in your area. Once the clutter starts accumulating, your energy is sure to quickly go into the  bad feng shui office  category.

3. Hang some pictures of landscapes on your cubicle walls. It not only creates the illusion of windows, through which ch'i flows, but also creates for you the kind of peaceful environment you need to feel at ease, which is the ultimate intention of feng shui. Bodies of water are especially helpful, as water is associated with the career area of your life. Hang this picture on the wall that your door is on, as this is the career area of your space.

4. Know that feng shui always works best when it is applied in a subtle way. Do not have little wind chimes hanging from your computer or three legged frogs. Find office decor-appropriate solutions to improve your space, solutions that you like and that fit into the overall office environment.

5. Last but sure not least, if you know that your office set-up has challenging feng shui and there is not much you can do about it, make an extra effort to create good feng shui in your home, especially in your bedroom. This will assure that your personal energy is receiving the needed replenishment and support to be able to withstand hours in a questionable feng shui office environment.

Civic sense refers to certain societal norms and traditions that every human being on this planet has to follow in order to become acceptable in the society. However in general, certain common social customs are followed throughout the diverse cultures of the world in order to promote peaceful co-existence between the inhabitants. When we talk about society, we include the human element which is the most unpredictable element on earth. Therefore how different individuals grasp and put these norms formulated by the society into practice is a matter of perspective of these selfsame individuals. Broadly speaking, Civic Sense refers to “rules of social etiquette framed by the society in order to propagate better living conditions”. Civic sense, or rather the lack of it, is a topic that has been widely discussed and argued now a days. Somehow, most of us do not care much for civic sense. And this attitude is prevalent across all sections of society . People today are so driven towards their personal goals that civic sense as an ethic has become a low priority, almost a nuisance.

Common wealth games are quite imminent. For this government is trying hard to make the city look beautiful and aware general public. Recently they have introduced a campaign called “Come on Delhi ” Dentsu India 's social communications specialist division, citizen dentsu, is behind the project. The campaign aims to build social responsibility in the run-up to the Commonwealth Games 2010, which will be held in October.

Government has chosen a lucky charm, sweet little Delhi ki Beti (Daughter of Delhi ), to represent a ten-month campaign for social responsibility and etiquette. Delhi ki Beti is a seven-year-old girl who urges civic awareness among the people of Delhi. The campaign is made by vibrant colors and simple nursery rhymes which can be read by each and anybody. Delhi ki Beti

plays with her animal friends and reminds them civic senses by singing nursery rhymes. The campaign encourages the preservation of heritage, care for visitors, use of plastic bags, following the traffic rule, patience in queue, controlling the pollution, eve teasing, public display of affection etc. Initially the campaign will run across the through outdoor media such as bus shelters and billboards. Print, radio and TV commercials will come as the year approaches. Campaign is split between ‘Inform and Inspire' and ‘Hospitality' phases. Here are some of the nursery rhymes already running on billboard ….

.“Johny Johny…yes papa -Q todogey no papa”

"Twinkle Twinkle little star, pollution kam hoga to he to dhikengey na yaar"

"Akkad bakkad bambey bo-plastic bag ko keh do no!"

"Nal khula chodna nadani hai, pani hai to zindganee hai"

We clean our homes and throw the rubbish in front of our neighbor's home, we eat sweets and chocolates and throw wrappers here there and everywhere. A very common sight is a biscuit wrapper being flung out of a speeding car in the middle of the road. This only goes to show how very civic minded our so called creamy layer of society is. If this is the standard of the cream, the less said about others, the better it would be. One just has to go to a newly built cinema house with all the most modern gadgets but, all the walls are full of pan spit. Is this how we care for our public property? Would we destroy the walls of our homes? No definitely not, then why this indifference for public property? This is because we have become and continue becoming more and more selfish and self-centered. We only look at self and nothing else around us matters. Yet, at the same time if we do not have public amenities – we shout the loudest. What an irony? We want everything but cannot contribute to the maintenance of anything. This is the standard of our civic sense. In this, the most tragic fact about the whole affair is that we are at no stage of life taught to respect other peoples' property or public property. It is the educated and the rich who should be the best conducted, contribute maximum to lack of civic sense.

We the human beings are social animals. And the society expects each one of us to have some sense of respect for the needs of society. When you have more population with greater civic sense in the society you have great nation & bright future always.

Begin now, begin today…..
