We are all the products of our own individual upbringing and experiences so it is completely natural that we will all have differences in opinions on a wide range of issues. The world would be a very dull place if we were all the same and it's the incredible diversity amongst people throughout the world that makes it such a fascinating place.

When we get to learn about others and respect our similarities and our differences, we get to learn so much more about the world and about ourselves and this helps us to grow spiritually, instead of stagnating. It also opens the doors to many other opportunities, be friendships, work prospects, travel possibilities or a wider understanding of the world in which we live.

Tolerance is the key but you can still maintain your own identity and still have valid viewpoints. Remember, even identical twins have their own individual experiences and opinions and you probably don't agree with everything your parents or children say but does that necessarily compromise you?

There are many things we can do to move towards accepting other people's opinions and respecting our differences. At a very basic level, we should treat others with the same degree of respect as we would like to be treated ourselves. We should embrace our differences, not be afraid of them and we should never judge a person on our first impression which is often about how he or she looks. Taking the time to get to know the person within is a far better indicator than pre-judging them on appearances alone.

Take time to listen to other's opinions and acknowledge them and also be confident to express your own. Listening to other's opinions doesn't mean you have to deviate from your own firmly held viewpoint, although a diverse opinion to your own can sometimes make you think about things in a different light.

"Catastrophe can sometimes be a Blessing in disguise"

There was once a man who was ship-wrecked and stranded on an island. Every day he prayed asking God to send someone to rescue him, but to his disappointment no one ever came. Months passed and this man learned how to survive on the island. During this time, he accumulated things from the island and stored them in a hut that he constructed. One day after hunting for food and returning back to his hut, much to his dismay he saw that his hut was on fire along with everything else he owned

All of his possessions were going up in smoke! The only thing he had left were the clothes on his back .Initially he was in shock, and then he was consumed with anger and rage!. In his fury he threw a fist into the air and began cursing God and yelling, "God, how could you let this happen to me? I've been praying everyday for months about being rescued and no one has come, and now everything that I have is on fire! How could you do to this to me! Why did you let this happen? Later the man was on his hands and knees weeping heavily when he happened to look up and catch sight of a ship coming in his direction. The man was rescued and as they were heading back to civilization the man asked the captain, "How were you able to find me?"The captain responded, "We were voyaging across the ocean when we noticed on the horizon a column of smoke going up. We decided to go check it out and when we did, that's when we found you!"

Moral of the story.

In life we are going to be confronted with challenges, problems, and disasters. But keep in mind that what the devil has meant for bad , God can transform into your good! "

15 August: Independence Day of India

India celebrated its Independence Day on 15 August 2014, as India became independent nation from British Rule on 15 August 1947. On this day citizens of India pay homage to their leaders and freedom fighters. Many people spend the day with family members or close friends. The sport of kite flying symbolizes Independence Day. The skies are dotted with countless Kites of various styles, sizes and shades, flown from rooftops and fields to symbolize India's free spirit. Kites of various styles, sizes and shades.

We also celebrated Independence Day at RITS with enthusiasm by decorating our premises with tricolors. We all were dressed in tricolors for the day. Patriotic Antakashri Competition was kept to enjoy the moment, where everyone had to sing patriotic songs with the Hindi Letters. As soon as Antakashri ended we sang our National Anthem. Beautiful tricolor floor cake was cut and distributed to all.

We got our freedom by continuous and courageous struggle .On this day we all Indians take a pledge to protect our nation and each other against all odds.

How to get balanced immune system to stay healthy and avoid infections.

1. Eat a balanced diet with whole foods.
You need many nutrients, such as vitamins A, C, D and E, as well as minerals selenium and zinc, and Omega 3s, to support your immune system. Focus on eating whole foods, such as quality animal protein (if you're an omnivore), legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds, as well as plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

2. Get plenty of vitamin C.
Fresh fruits and vegetables are our best sources of vitamin C, which help to strengthen our immune system and keep our body healthy. Great food sources of vitamin C include berries, citrus, kiwi, bell peppers, and dark green vegetables.

3. Drink plenty of clean water.
Water helps in the production of lymph, which carries white blood cells and other immune system cells. Staying hydrated is one of the best things you can do for your health. For an extra boost, add a slice of lemon, which will provide extra vitamin C.

4. Get 7 to 8 hours of sleep a day.
Chronic fatigue is known to increase risks of illness. The body rejuvenates and strengthens when it’s at rest. If you can, sleep 7 to 8 hours a day, and if needed, take an afternoon nap. Your body will thank you.

5. Say hello to friendly bacteria.
It’s known that about 80% of our immune system is located in our digestive system. So keeping a healthy gut is very important to keep a strong immune system. Probiotics are good bacteria that can be found in whole and fermented foods, such as raw sauerkraut, miso, yogurt, kefir, kimchi and microalgae, or in the form of supplements. If you take supplements, it’s best to choose a brand that offers different sources of bacteria and one that's ideally refrigerated.

6. Exercise!
Exercising is not only a great way to get in shape, but it also increases our immune function, improves sleep quality, and makes our body stronger. If you do not have any health conditions that prevent you from exercising, find the time to workout, even if it’s only a long walk!

7. Soak up some sun.
Vitamin D is important to strengthen our immune system, so try to go outside a few times a week for about 30 minutes, without sunscreen, when the sun is not at its highest. You can also get small doses of vitamin D from fatty fish.

8. Relax, laugh, and enjoy life.
Chronic stress and depression can weaken the immune system and makes us more vulnerable to illness. It’s important to take the time to enjoy life and have fun!
