Diwali Celebration

Deepawali is most colorful, sacred and celebrated festivals of India. The festival of Diwali marks the happy return of lord Rama to Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile. It is a festival of lights and festivities. It comes off about twenty days after Dussehra and shows the advent of winter.

Diwali/Deepawali means a row or collection of lamps. A few days before Diwali, offices, houses, buildings, shops and temples are thoroughly cleaned, white-washed and decorated with flowers, rangoli, lights, candlesticks and earthen diyas and lamps.

Glass

Once upon a time a professor walked around on a stage while teaching stress management principles to an auditorium filled with students.  As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the typical “glass half empty or glass half full” question.  Instead, with a smile on her face, the professor asked, “How heavy is this glass of water I’m holding?”

Students shouted out answers ranging from eight ounces to a couple  of pounds.

She replied, “From my perspective, the absolute weight of this glass doesn’t matter.  It all depends on how long I hold it.  If I hold it for a minute or two, it’s fairly light.  If I hold it for an hour straight, its weight might make my arm ache a little.  If I hold it for a day straight, my arm will likely cramp up and feel completely numb and paralyzed, forcing me to drop the glass to the floor.  In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it feels to me.”

As the class shook their heads in agreement, she continued, “Your stresses and worries in life are very much like this glass of water.  Think about them for a while and nothing happens.  Think about them a bit longer and you begin to ache a little.  Think about them all day long, and you will feel completely numb and paralyzed – incapable of doing anything else until you drop them.”

The moral: It's important to remember to let go of your stresses and worries. No matter what happens during the day, as early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don't carry them through the night and into the next day with you. If you still feel the weight of yesterday's stress, it's a strong sign that it's time to put the glass down.

Independence Day

Independence Day in India is celebrated as a national holiday every year on 15th of August when people remember the long event of independence of our Nation from the British rule. India got independence on August 15th in 1947 after lots of movement of Independence during which many freedom fighters sacrificed their lives. Students, teachers, parents and other people come together to celebrate the Independence Day by unfurling the National Flag and singing National Anthem. National Flag is also hosted by the Indian prime minister in the National capital, New Delhi at Red Fort. The tricolour of our Flag represents saffron for courage and sacrifice, white for peace and truth and green for faith and chivalry.

There is an Ashok chakra in the centre of our Flag which contains 24 spikes distributed evenly. At this special day, we remember the great sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Raj Guru, Gandhiji and other dared freedom fighters for their unforgettable contribution in the independence of India..

We also celebrated Independence Day at RITS, with enthusiasm and by decorating our premises with tricolors. We all were dressed in tricolors for the day. On this day, we all Indians take a pledge to protect our nation and each other against all odds.

Health and Lifestyle.

Travelling is wonderful in many ways. It captures us with a sense of wanderlust and longing for more destinations to visit, cultures to experience, food to eat, and people to meet. As amazing as Travelling is, most of us think we need to wait until our later years to really explore the world. Here are few benefits of Travelling, which will help you to find reasons for Travelling.

1.You will find new purpose: Travelling is an amazingly underrated investment in yourself. As you travel you're exposed to new people, cultures, and lifestyles than you are living in your home . With all the newness in your life, you're also opened to new insights, ways of seeing the world and living, which often gives people a new purpose for their lives. If you're feeling stuck on what your purpose is, what you want to do with your life, the career or educational path you want to pursue, go travel…you might just be surprised at what you discover as a new sense of life purpose and direction.

2. You'll appreciate your home more.
When we spend time away from home, especially in a place where we don't have the same luxuries readily available to us…like a village in Madhya Pradesh that runs without electricity…we become more aware and appreciative for the luxuries we have back at home.

3. You'll realize how little you actually knew about the world.
There's concept, and then there's experience. When we travel, we may notice that some of the things we've heard about the world end up being very different than what we were indoctrinated and conditioned to believe. Where you once may have thought it was too expensive and dangerous, you may realize how you can actually save more on your lifestyle expenses Travelling the world than you do living at home

4.You'll realize that it's extremely easy to make friends.
One of the first things I learned from Travelling solo is how easy it is to make friends. Something magical happens in how people can show up raw and real when they're out of their conditioned environment and open to express themselves without feeling judged. That rawness and realness end up inspiring others to be authentic, and that's how you can become best friends with people when you've only known them for a few hours.

5.You'll realize life is a wonderful gift .
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
