Independence Day

Independence Day is an annual observance celebrated every year on 15th of August. The celebration is held in grandeur in national capital's India Gate.

On this day India got freedom from the British rule.

It has been declared as the National and Gazetted Holiday all across India in order to commemorate the independence from British Empire on 15th of August in 1947. The kite flying sport in India symbolizes the Independence Day. The sky, all over India becomes full of countless kites (flown from rooftops) of various sizes, shapes, styles, and shades.

RITS premises were decorated with tricolors (Saffron, White, and Green). What can be a better way to celebrate Independence Day with the inclusion of each & everyone with lots of fun, flavor, and stories of valor.

Everyone was energized, ebullient and motivated to make this occasion special, memorable and to offer tribute to our freedom fighters.

Richard is working as a Recruiter and has been associated with RITS since long. Know more about Richard.

The Seasons of Life

There was a man who had four sons.

He wanted his sons to learn to not judge things too quickly.

So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted.
The second son said no - it was covered with green buds and full of promise.

The third son disagreed, he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right because they had each seen but one season in the tree’s life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are - and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life - can only be measured at the end when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it’s winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.

Moral:
Don’t judge a life by one difficult season. Don’t let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.

Mycena chlorophos

This bioluminescent mushroom is found in subtropical Asia, Australia, and Brazil.

The caps and stems emit a glowing green light in the dark.

They glow brightest when they are about a day old and the surrounding temperature is about 81 degrees Fahrenheit.

After the first day of the cap opening, the glow dulls until it is undetectable to the naked eye.

Health and Lifestyle.

Few steps to keep ourselves healthy while working.

You spend about half of your waking hours at your job. Whether you work from a home office or sit in a corporate cubicle, there are things you can do to make your workplace better for your health and wellbeing.

Here's how to give your office space a healthy makeover.

Sit Less

Sitting for long hours can impact our health and can cause of a lot of diseases. Stand or walk around frequently.

Paint your cubicle green

Shades of green have been linked to enhancing creative thinking and most of us have to be creative at work, whether we're coming up with a new advertising slogan or figuring out how to analyze data on a spreadsheet in a different way.

Wallpapering your cube with a green backdrop or adding green elements to your desk may also be helpful.

Add
a plant: Bringing nature into your office can be a great way to inspire creativity.

Display (a few) personal items

Decorating your desk can help you feel comfortable, which can reduce workplace stress and dissatisfaction

  • Use aromatherapy

The smell of citrus can lift your spirits and improve thinking and memory

  • Stop eating at your desk

"One of the most important things you can do during the workday is to not eat at your desk. Have a dedicated area where you can go to get out of your own environment and have lunch, preferably with other people, so you can truly get that break during the day”.

Sitting down to lunch away from your desk won't just keep crumbs out of your keyboard; it can also help reset your brain for an afternoon of productivity. Plus, it can stop you from eating mindlessly while you work or surf the Internet.

Pay attention to posture

Sitting all day isn't the healthiest thing for you, but slouching all day is even worse. "Posture is very important, both to health and to workplace performance “Sitting up tall gives you a sense of accomplishment while slouching and slumping make you feel tired and lazy." On top of that, hunching over a computer is a leading cause of back pain.

Squeeze in mini workouts

Even if you can't fit in a full workout over your lunch break, you can still do some simple stretches and strength moves right in your office.

  • Eat homemade food.

Cooking is the best relaxation exercise for most of us. Carrying your homemade food will not only keep you healthy also it will help you to avoid junk food.
