To be a leader

A leader is essential part of any organization in today’s work environment. Work culture in the present age is evolving in a progressive manner & requires an organization to be in step with the changes taking place in external environment so as to meet the customer demands as well as to prepare its employees for a more challenging work environment which only a leader can do.

It's easy to see in the news evidence of leaders who fail; studies indicate about half of them do. But still leaders are the ones who can take decisions - good or bad, who have the courage to test and can expect the results, positive or negative. While there are thousands of books on leadership they tend to talk about traits of a leader: honesty, integrity, someone who has followers. Infact behaviour of the follower provides a mirror for the leader's actual effectiveness. A leader is someone who can get people going in a hurry on things that matter.

So to be a leader one has to have followers…

Deepawali Celebrations
Diwali or Deepawali is also known as the Festival of Lights. Sanskrit word "Deepawali" - Deepa meaning light and Avali, meaning a row. The festival of Diwali reminds us of the festive season of joy, splendor, enthusiasm and happiness. It is the festival of lights and has been celebrated with great excitement by all RITSians.

With so much enthusiasm to see and do, Deepawali celebration on 16th October, 2009 at RITS was a multi integrated event celebrated in grandeur. Rangoli which is an identity to any auspicious celebration in India marked the beginning of this colorful festival at our office premises and RITSIANS energetically decorated whole of the premises with lamps(diyas) and lights. However, in the evening celebrations started with lightning of diya followed by Ganesh Laxmi poojan so as to bring in wealth and prosperity.

Followed by this was gift distribution ceremony and the games like Khelo and Jeeto in which everybody participated with great enthusiasm and won the prizes sponsored by ROSE CLUB. Also their energy was recharged with an exclusive mouth watering dinner. The feeling of togetherness and vivacity that is innate to the festival of lights was the true essence spread by RITS. Every RITSIAN prayed that may Mahalakshmi stays here forever.

Did you know ?
The exact duration of one year is 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes and 46 seconds. In summary, it is as 365 days and a quarter (in fact they would be 365 days and 6h). For this reason, every four years we have a leap year, of 366 days.

Also, to correct the inaccuracy of 365 days and a quarter, some years that should be leap are not it. The rule to know if one year is leap or not is the following one:

One year is leap if it is divisible for 4, except those divisible for 100 but not for 400.

Therefore, 1900 would not be leap but the 2000 would be it. On the other hand, the 2100 neither would be it.
